Nintendo, the last of the Big Three companies (Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony), had their turn today on center stage at E3, and they brought some good stuff to the table as well. They look to be making a push to handhelds as that is where their big announcements are heading.
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes- The beloved Nintendo franchise is going back to portable gaming in this latest entry which boasts coop play. The game allows for three players to play together to complete the game. To solve some of the famous Zelda puzzles, players can stack on top of one another creating Totems. The clothing the player chooses for the character determines the types of abilities the character has. This game does have a single player mode in which the user controlled player brings along two paper players to complete the game.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force- Another one of Nintendo’s big franchises is getting a new game too. Metroid Prime is getting a handheld game and this game is also a coop game. This edition of the long running series is boasting four player coop on missions and the ability to play 3 v. 3 competitive sports games with each other. This game will be released in 2016.
Star Fox Zero- This release is, in my opinion, the biggest for the Wii U that Nintendo announced today. Star Fox Zero will be released for the Wii U later this year and will combine some old elements with some new elements to make a unique game. As of now, the game is single player only and the developers are saying they are looking to keep it that way for the time being.
Some other games that were announced that I did not go in depth on are: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, and Super Mario Maker.
Did I miss anything? Let me know and I’ll include it in an update!
