Friday night there were a rumor circling around Twitter that Disney had chosen to cancel Tron 3 which was set to begin shooting this year. In the days since, the rumor has picked up more and more where it looks like it is true.

This is really sad for me because I loved the original Tron and Tron Legacy was amazing. Legacy was especially awesome because the visuals were fantastic and having Daft Punk do the entire soundtrack was a great idea. The movie looked and sounded how it should of.

The project had gained steam recently with Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund signed on to reprise their roles, director Joseph Kosinski was back in the chair, and there was even a movement to try to get Jared Leto involved in the project although nothing was made official, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
